What's The Most Important Ingredient For an Idea With No Budget?

You have a Product or Business idea and want to get started, but don’t have the funding. I say it is possible. Allow me to explain.

There are many people like you with a great idea and think you must have major funding or a lot of cash to launch your idea or Business. It’s just not true. I’m speaking from experience as a multiple-business idea guy. Aka Entrepreneur. I’ve started several Businesses over the years with little funding, made money or have sold the business idea.

Let me be honest it would be great if you have access to capital for your idea? Yes indeed…no doubt about it. You can progress much faster. But wait I just said you don’t need a lot of money. True! Therefore, you’re reading this. You don’t have the cash.  There is 1 ingredient you must have, it’s time. Time is money. You’ve heard that before right. If you don’t have the time or money your idea will remain an idea. That’s of course unless you can convince someone else to take it on.

TIME…has been my key factor. 1st you must get started. Document your idea with a Business Plan or Business Outline. Talk to other Business Owners, Mentors or Influencers who’ve been there before. Talk with them about your idea. Offer prospective customers samples of your work and get feedback. Your idea should solve their problem and be easy to explain. If not, you may want to rethink this. I am just saying. Pretty basic stuff so far.

Time, patience and consistency will get you there. You must decide if you can be patient. In several of my ventures It took me many years before I gained any traction at all. I’ve heard it all along the way. No budget no business success. The best things in life take time. Nothing comes easy. My best advice is stick to it. If you like your idea, people are buying, and you have a niche, go for it. Work nights, weekends and any spare time you can find.

It’s not going be easy. You may not see any results for a very long time but it’s worth it in the end. And you said you have TIME. Time will equal money. Dedicate yourself to the task of getting started now. The months and years will pass by while you work your regular job or gigs to stay funded while you work on your project.

You must market yourself, the idea or company. This costs little to nothing. You don’t have to put thousands of dollars into a social media budget. You just need time, be consistent and be relentless. Get pictures of customers with your product or testimonials. Get the information out there. Start a Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn account. Post good content constantly every day. If you are not seen, you do not exist. Invite your friends and family to like and share. Get on podcasts and talk about your idea and shares satisfied customer stories.

Launch a website on Shopify. They start at around $20. Order $15 box of Business cards online. Just get started. Go to Networking events and collaborate as well. Meet other people in similar industries and partner up. Get out and knock on doors and sell. Offer samples and demos. Just put in the time and time will equal money.

If you have clients and they want what you are offering you will generate money. Over time and persistence, you will also generate interest from people who do have money. Eventually you will have positioned yourself to capture the interest of a partner or investor whose skills should complement yours. Not just the cash. Next thing you know a few years have gone by and people will start to realize your gaining traction. You are not going away.

Now you have created a business. Enjoy it. Welcome to Entrepreneurship and hard work. For more information please reach out.
